Personal training with Mike

Get your strength back.

I work with middle-aged men who want their energy, their strength and their physicality back — who want to feel young again, and want it done in a way that fits the life they already have.

Who I train

Most of the men I work with were active once. Sport, the gym, physical work, something. Then the decades did what decades do — the desk, the kids, the hours — and one day you notice you get up off the floor differently than you used to.

They are not chasing a stage-ready physique. They want energy that lasts past three in the afternoon. They want to carry things, keep up, play with their kids or their grandkids, and stop feeling every year they have put on. That is a good brief, and it is a very achievable one.

How I got here

I started training people when I was seventeen years old. Then I went to school for it, and earned a B.S. in Physical Education with a concentration in health fitness — so what I am telling you is not something I picked up from an app last year.

I spent years on the floor at Gold’s Gym and eventually became an assistant manager at one. Training was the work, and I was good at it.

Then life took me in other directions, the way it does. I tried other things — I ran my own business for seven years, which taught me plenty, some of it the hard way.

And then I came back, because after everything else I tried it was obvious: this is what I am meant to do. That detour is part of what I bring now. I am not coaching you from theory. I am coaching you from a life that had setbacks in it, and I would rather hand you what I learned from those than pretend they never happened.

How I coach

The things that actually move the needle.

Exercise, food, mindset — and a fair bit of hard-won perspective. Get those pulling in the same direction and the rest looks after itself: no gimmicks, no punishment, and nothing you have to become a different person to follow.

Training that does not waste your time

Done properly, exercise is efficient. I will show you how to train effectively and safely in the time you actually have, so every session earns its place in your week — no junk volume, no ego lifting, and nothing that leaves you hurt and starting over.

Nutrition without a diet

I do not put people on diets. We build a healthy relationship with food instead. You keep the things you genuinely enjoy — we work them into a way of eating that is better for you. If you could not still be doing it in ten years, it is not worth starting.

A mindset you can keep

We set a pace that is comfortable enough to maintain but still enough of a challenge to move you. Progress you can hold on to beats intensity you abandon in three weeks, every single time. Building that mindset is most of the work.

My experience, handed over

I have had the good years and the hard ones. I take what I have learned from both and share it with my clients — not as a lecture, but as something you can pick up and apply to your own situation.
