Control, redirected — not taken away
At their core, eating disorders are often rooted in a deep need to feel some control in life. That need is not something to be stripped away. It's a very human desire that can be gently redirected toward healthy behaviors and a steadier sense of control.
So I begin by respecting you and protecting your autonomy. This is your process, and you remain in the driver's seat throughout.
Meeting you exactly where you are
I meet every client where they are, without judgment. With my support, I encourage you to dare to make small changes of your own choosing — in your thinking and in your behaviors — at a pace that feels possible.
I never lose sight of how frightening it is to loosen your grip on thoughts and habits that have felt like a lifeline. We honor that difficulty together, and we move only as fast as safety and trust allow.
Movement, when it's safe and right
When it is physically and mentally appropriate, I gently invite movement into treatment. Exercise paired with healthier thinking can transform how we see our bodies — shifting the question from how a body looks to what it can do, and the quiet value it holds.
This is always introduced carefully, collaboratively, and only when it supports your recovery rather than your eating disorder.
